Breakdown on Ludwig playcalling vs. New Mexico:
1st Down - 83% of the time they RUN.
2nd Down - 73% of the time the RUN.
3rd Down - 86% of the time the PASS.
- After the 1st Half the Lobos made some easy changes based on the RUN, RUN, PASS Offense.

That is some pretty amazing evidence. There have been studies of penalty kicks in soccer that have shown that a purely random shot pattern is the most effective because the goalkeeper will have no idea where to go. I would think that some lack of predictability might help in US football as well. Certainly this level of predictability makes things very easy for the opposing defense.

it would actually to be interesting to see the further breakdown of yards gained on 1st down with a run and yards gained on 1st with a passing play. Rinse and repeat for 2nd and 3rd...
